On New Dawn, in order to ensure everyone can have a good experience we take the enforcement of rules very seriously. Our admin team has had a lot of experience in the MCRP community and has seen a lot of the good and much more of the bad. Please take your time to read the rules and do your best to follow them. Our PR team determines the consequences of breaking the rules on a case-by-case basis.
Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Antisemitism, Pedophilia, etc are not allowed or tolerated on New Dawn. Offending members will be banned without appeal.
NSFW talk, pictures, and jokes are not permitted in public chats.
Discussion of sensitive topics such as politics, controversy, rape, suicide, and self-harm are prohibited. This server is not intended for venting and our members are not equipped to help you. Please find help outside of the MCRP server.
Harassment of staff or server members will result in punishment. This includes dms. Do not message staff about server issues, that is what tickets are for. UNLESS an admin has given people permission to dm them directly.
Slurs and intense insults are prohibited in all facets of the server. There is no leniency on this, and punishments could range from getting muted, to a permanent ban depending on severity.
Please use the designated channels for their purposes. The art forum is for digitally or traditionally drawn art, 3D art IRL or digital, and pixel/skin art that YOU have made. If you are posting art that is not yours it goes into a media channel with proper credit. We respect artists and their work on this server. The use or discussion of AI image-creating or AI-Writing bots is prohibited on this server.
Commissioned artwork can go in either dedicated channel, but it MUST be specified that it is a commissioned piece and you must credit the artist.
In-character(IC) interactions do not, and should not affect out-of-character(OOC) interactions. Slights against your character are not slights against you- you are not your character. Keep IC conflicts limited to IC. If an IC situation has made you upset, speak to an admin instead of being rude to the other player.
No Metagaming, Powergaming, or using any OOC knowledge or cheats to influence IC decisions and outcomes. It’s unfair to everyone. Some roleplay just has IC consequences for your actions.
No ERP, or sexual content. 'Fade to blacks' are allowed but nothing further. Just because the server is 18+ does NOT mean everyone is comfortable with open sexuality. Please respect that. If a character is put into a sexual situation without the player's consent, the situation will be voided and the Admins will handle the perpetrator.
No characters can be made below 18. This excludes constructs for obvious reasons.
Characters also cannot be built to resemble children or act like an actual child. This is referred to as “child coding” and we do not allow it here. Acting childish does not count, however, as there is a fine difference between acting childish and being played as if they were a child.
Characters must not be or closely resemble real characters from media such as shows, movies, comics, etc. We understand it is not always possible to be entirely original, but please do your best to make your own unique character.
Voiding a roleplay can only happen if all members involved consent and if the roleplay has no lasting impact on events, other people, or situations. i.e. you can’t void roleplaying at a large event if you were involved. This can change due to DM discretion. If you have an issue with an IRp event or situation, please contact staff.
Character killing and injury between players can only happen with consent from both parties. If a player does not consent to their character being killed or injured and you are trying to force it, that is considered power gaming. Character death from DM’s will only be allowed with consent from the player. If consent is not given, then another consequence will be decided.
All DMs utilize the Rule of Cool. That being the decision to care more about the roleplay weight of an action rather than the mechanical limits. This is to support creativity in events and mechanic-heavy scenarios. This does not mean anything you say will go, and some DMs will choose to rely on mechanics in certain situations. We just want to encourage our players to have fun and think outside the box.
If a player is making you uncomfortable, please speak up with that player or with an admin to diffuse the situation. Solutions cannot be sought without first talking about the problem.
If a player has come to you saying that something you are doing is making them uncomfortable, then stop. Your participation in New Dawn is a privilege, not a right. And we will not hesitate to take that privilege away should you prove not safe for the community.
We encourage the use of TinyD6 mechanics to enhance characters and roleplay, not just to provide mechanic benefits and advantages in scenarios like combat. Please keep in mind while creating a character that this is not a combat-focused server, and we place more weight on active rp and creativity than combat scenarios.
