The Red Cardinal Order

The Red Cardinal Order is an organization of people from the states closest to Soln. They have amassed a fair number of clerics, knights, and general folks who wish to help. They provide aid and relief to those fleeing the Heart of War and its devastation. They recently were able to forge a path around the corruption-soaked woods that had cut Soln off prior, hence why Soln has begun its reformation. The city now stands as a safe haven for those fleeing worse situations, as well as welcoming people who want to help. The Cardinal Order is the primary protection and leadership for Soln.

It is led by an older human woman named Miriam Tamar, who oversees every facet of Soln's reconstruction and every refugee that comes in. She's well known as a paragon of justice, hospitality, and care. She's the reason the Red Cardinal Order stayed neutral in the Civil War and refused to allow her men to take a single side. They helped anyone wanting to escape the conflict, and often stopped things from getting too bad. But it wasn't enough, in the end.

The Order of Oak

Founded thousands of years ago by fae and mortal alike, the Order of Oak is primarily made up of druids and fae, as well as anyone who pledges to protect nature and its balance. They typically group around each of the world's four fae portals in order to protect them and uphold the treaty between the Fae plane and Material Plane.

The Order of Oak was particularly shaken by the Heart of War's appearance, as war is unnatural in the balance of things, and thus the order has taken a stance against it. Their people have now spread out across the empire to help aid recovery efforts. Some even are found working with the Red Cardinals or by themselves.

They are led by a council of Archdruids that have their headquarters around the Northern Fae portal, which is Southeast of Soln.

Mcgully Merchant's Guild

One of the most prestigious and well-known merchant guilds during the pre-Civil War era of the empire, the Mcgully's peddled in almost all wares and walks of life. At least one Merchant Guild-affiliated shop sprung up in every major city and town across the Empire. They came under a lot of heat during the Civil War for openly providing weapons and supplies to Loyalists, who supported the Prince as the heir to the empire. But behind closed doors, they made money off of anyone that came to them. Oftentimes supplying the commoners in secrecy. Money is their first prerogative.

Somehow, some way, they survived the Civil War and managed to take what remains of their supplies to different safe havens across the land. With the begrudging aid of the Red Cardinals, they set up a supply center in Soln to aid refugees fleeing the Heart. One of their current main goals is to re-establish the currency system across remaining settlements.

Ashen Knights

The Ashen Knights are a guild of warriors and artisans built on the foundation of flame and a dedication to protect those in need. The guild's main base is that of a black metal castle attached to the side of a long dormant volcano that houses the black metal ore they use for nearly everything, the fortress is far away West of Soln. There are many guild practices such as members calling each Brother, Sister, or Sibling [Name] which is identified by the patterns on their armor.

During the Civil War the Ashen Knights tried to stay as neutral as possible, believing that their duties were to the commonfolk and not as mercenaries of war. When the Heart of War arrived many guild members were killed, and even more were lost after as surviving members tried to reclaim the armor and weapons of the fallen out of respect and got themselves taken by the Heart of War. This is a period of great shame to the guild as they lost a great number of members, and they couldn't show the common practice of respect towards those who fallen to the Heart.

Today the Ashen Knights are led by Sister Catherine who considers everyone in the guild as family as such she goes by Sister other than past leaders who have taken up the title of Sir, Ma'am, Madam, etc. The Ashen Knights focus now is to aid those fleeing the Heart and to help sanctuaries of the Heart by any means necessary.
